Healthy-looking skin starts with the right plan. Eye creams, serums, and moisturizers have a place. But what if your concern needs more than a product on the surface?
At WellSight in Murrieta, we help patients understand when professional treatment may make a difference—and how thoughtfully selected skincare can protect their investment.
Why skincare alone may not be enough
As collagen and elastin change with age, skin can lose firmness. Sun exposure can contribute to brown spots, redness, and uneven tone. Dry, irritated eyes may also have an underlying cause that an eye cream cannot address.
Skincare can hydrate, brighten, and protect. Professional treatments can target certain concerns that topical products cannot fully correct. You don’t need every treatment or every product—you need a plan suited to you.
Three WellSight treatments, three different purposes
Forma-I: More than an eye cream
Do your eyes feel gritty, dry, irritated, or tired? Forma-I uses controlled radiofrequency heat to help improve meibomian gland function in suitable patients with evaporative dry eye. It may also improve the appearance of mild laxity around the eyes. An eye cream can moisturize skin, but it cannot treat blocked oil glands.
Lumecca IPL: More than a brightening serum
Sun spots, certain brown discolorations, and visible redness may respond to Lumecca intense pulsed light (IPL). While brightening skincare can help with appearance, IPL targets suitable pigment and vascular concerns using light energy. Not every skin type or pigmentation condition is appropriate for IPL, so an assessment matters.
Morpheus8: More than moisturizer
When fine lines, uneven texture, acne scarring, or loss of firmness are the concern, Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen remodeling. Moisturizer helps skin feel supple; it cannot create the same controlled remodeling beneath the surface.
Can treatments complement one another?
Yes. A patient with both discoloration and uneven texture might be evaluated for Lumecca and Morpheus8, while someone with meibomian gland dysfunction may be a candidate for Forma-I. These are different concerns and different treatments. Your WellSight doctor will decide whether combining treatments is appropriate and how to space them safely.
Your treatment is the beginning. Protecting your results is the next step.
Following a procedure, your doctor may recommend specific products for gentle cleansing, moisture, recovery, or sun protection. The right choices—and when to restart them—depend on the treatment and your healing. Not everyone needs a complicated skincare routine.
One essential for everyone: sunscreen
Sun protection is essential for everyone, regardless of age, skin type, or whether you’ve had a professional treatment. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher helps reduce UV-related premature aging, sun damage, and unwanted pigmentation. Reapply as directed, especially outdoors. After a procedure, follow your doctor’s instructions about when to resume topical products and sunscreen.
Beyond sunscreen, skincare should be personalized. Whether your concern is dryness, fine lines, or puffiness around the eyes, WellSight can help you select products that complement your treatments and support long-term skin health. The goal isn’t more products. It’s the right products, paired with the right treatments.
Where does Colorescience fit in?
Colorescience offers mineral sun protection and targeted cosmetic eye products. Its Total Eye Collection includes options intended to improve the appearance of puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, and dryness; Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 35 provides tinted mineral sun protection for the delicate eye area.
You don’t necessarily need the full collection. Cosmetic eye products are not a treatment for dry eye disease, and no topical skincare replaces a medical evaluation. Your WellSight team can help you choose what fits your needs.
Questions patients often ask
Will treatment replace my skincare?
No. Treatments and skincare do different jobs. Targeted skincare supports hydration and protection, while professional procedures address selected concerns.
Do I need special products afterward?
Possibly. Your doctor will give you specific aftercare instructions. Avoid applying your usual active skincare products to freshly treated skin until you are cleared to do so.
Can I have more than one treatment?
Sometimes. It depends on your skin, eye health, medical history, and goals. A consultation is the best place to start.
Are results permanent?
Results vary. Skin continues to age and new sun damage can occur. Sun protection, appropriate skincare, and sometimes maintenance treatments can help preserve improvements.
